The Permanent Way Institution, Malaysia Section is a non profit international organization of over 300 members as  professional body whose objective is the advancement of the science of permanent way and related matters. Membership extends to Malaysian and is open to any person engaged in the management, planning, design, installation, maintenance or manufacture of rail, track component or associated equipment.

The Institution objectives principally by presentation and discussion of technical papers at various place in the country. Seminar, visit and technical talk are arranged from time to time.
